My Morning Routine for 2019

1.06.2019

I am in love with my morning routine and would love to share it with you! It's very basic and chilled out but still productive. It's less of a 'strict' routine but 'things I typically do in the morning'.

1. WAKE UP & OPEN BLINDS

  • I usually set an alarm to wake me up from 8am - 12pm (this depends on what I'm doing that day).
  • I don't do the 'no screen in the 30 minutes after waking up and before going to sleep' thing. I don't think it's necessary, but I know that it works for some people.
  • Once I am out of bed I go to the bathroom and then open up the blinds in my room to let in some natural light.

2. CHECK MY PHONE, THEN CHUCK IT UNDER THE DUVET

  • I will then usually 'check my phone', which essentially entails me having a look on Pinterest and seeing what's going on in my YouTube subscription box. Notifications are for a bit later.
  • I will then 'chuck it under my duvet'! I don't think I could explain to you how much this has increased my productivity.
  • I've been able to complete work that would usually take me an hour or two, in thirty to forty-five minutes, simply because I'm not constantly, mindlessly, 'checking my phone'.

3. CUP OF TEA

  • A non negotiable morning ritual of mine is making myself a, (massive), cup of English Breakfast Tea. Tea is the first thing that I drink most days. It's warming, but of course, nice and sweet!

4. WORK

  • Once my phone is well out of sight, I get on with some work on my MacBook.
  • This usually entails getting a video edited/uploaded, making thumbnails and writing blog posts.

5.  BREAKFAST

  • The final, (and best), part of my morning routine, is breakfast!
  • I always make sure that I've eaten enough breakfast to keep my full and satisfied until lunchtime. I usually either have a big bowl of baked oatmeal, pancakes, yogurt with granola and berries or a few slices of wholemeal toast with jam and butter. I of course have another cup of tea to accompany my breakfast.

So that's it for my morning routine! As I said, it's very simple. You can watch my morning routine video below!
